If acne scars are located on the face, they can reduce the patient's quality of life, leading to isolation and depression. There are multiple effective modalities to treat acne scars. Ablative lasers, radiofrequency, micro-needling, and pilings with trichloroacetic acid have very good treatment results.

Questo studio ha esaminato sei articoli sull’efficacia del laser frazionato a CO₂ ultra‑pulsato nel trattamento delle cicatrici da acne depresse. I risultati hanno mostrato che questo trattamento laser è risultato più efficace rispetto ad altri metodi, con tassi di miglioramento più elevati e una maggiore sensazione di morbidezza della pelle nei pazienti.
